Tzatziki Sauce





I really don't think this sauce needs an introduction except to say that it is a lighter version of my favorite sauce.  Its the perfect addition to almost anything.  I top my falafels, my salmon and even my chicken with this.  It will elevate any dish,  Add a little hot sauce and yum, yum, yum is all I could say 😋





Tzatziki Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 english cucumber, peeled, and diced
  • 1 tsp salt (divided)
  • 3 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped dill
  • 1/2 tsp mashed garlic
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup fat free Fage plain greek yogurt


    Preparation:

    peel and shred cucumber.  place in a bowl with 1/2 tsp salt, let sit for about 20 min.  use a kitchen towel or cheesecloth and drain the liquid from the cucumber.  

    In a food processor or blender, add all of the other ingredients and the drained cucumber, blend. remove the mixture into a bowl, add stir in the yogurt.
